Uppsala Municipality leads the work on urban development. We work on a wide variety of projects and contribute to the development of new districts, station areas, fast cycling paths, parks, squares, and community services. The Urban Planning Administration consists of about 600 employees who work in cross-border processes. You will belong to the design and contract planning unit and collaborate with colleagues across the administration. The work also involves collaboration outside the organization, for example with Region Uppsala and Uppsala Water.

Job Description

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute your expertise and ideas to drive the business forward and achieve our goals. You will work with design and planning of Uppsala's public environments, such as reconstruction of existing streets, pedestrian and bicycle paths, parking lots, traffic safety measures, mass balance, management of stormwater, impact on water and sewage facilities, and more. The role also includes producing simpler investigations and design proposals as well as performing workplace tasks such as BAS-P. The assignments can be in different stages and include everything from feasibility studies, preliminary design, and construction documents, elevation setting, contributing to on-site solutions, design reviews, and revisions of documents prior to production and during operational measures, in close collaboration with our own contracting operations and with those responsible for operations. To succeed in the assignments, you prioritize close collaboration with colleagues in various professional areas. You will be part of a group of landscape architects, contract engineers, and estimators and work together with the department's site managers and project leaders.

The role requires you to work independently and in a structured manner and take significant personal responsibility for your tasks. We therefore place great importance on your ability to adapt methodology and working methods based on each assignment and to define relevant calculation conditions in collaboration with other competencies. In addition to your role as a designer, you will contribute to developing our work processes within the administration regarding, for example, mass management and climate work based on your strengths and competencies.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with post-secondary education in the construction/engineering field or similar that the employer considers relevant for the position. You have at least 3 years of experience working with design in land and infrastructure and related areas. Furthermore, you have experience with AMA/MER and technical descriptions. To succeed in the role, you need to be proficient in design tools such as AutoCAD and Novapoint/Civil 3D. The work also requires knowledge of industry and regulatory requirements as well as knowledge of construction workplace safety issues. We also see that you have knowledge in the role of Bas-P. A good understanding of the construction process is also a requirement for the position.

If you have experience in the construction industry, it is considered an advantage.
